Thanks to a new kitchen and COVID-19,
a hobby was born
Make it stand out.
Dream it.
It all begins with an idea. Scour your pantry. Scavenge your refrigerator. Pull out your favorite cookbook. And then look for a spark and begin formulating your idea.
Build it.
Mise en place - a French term for "everything in its place." Arguably the single most important step in cooking. Says Chef Thomas Keller, mise en place "is about having everything you need before you start cooking; picturing every task involved in creating a dish - all the ingredients and all the tools - and having them organized in advance."
Savor it.
Sure, some of us enjoy cooking but the ultimate goal is the enjoyment in savoring the food we eat. Remember, you eat with your eyes first so presentation is key. But don’t forget, it needs to taste good, too!
